Did You Know?

There are more living things in a shovel full of soil than there are PEOPLE on the Earth!

Parents & Educators

The Conservation Pack team is based on campus at Iowa State University, but we travel to events in all parts of the state. Conservation Pack visits are available FREE of charge!

Conservation Pack visits can be scheduled year-round, contingent upon staff availability.

The Conservation Station trailer plays a central role in our visits during the months of April - October.  See the Conservation Station in action!

The Conservation Pack team brings
age-appropriate lessons that focus on a number of conservation-related topics including natural resources, watersheds, water quality, soil, erosion, prairies, wetlands, and more.

Hands-on activities, demonstrations, stories, and songs are woven throughout the high energy, interactive lessons.

We take requests for visits to schools, outdoor classrooms, homeschool groups, 4-H clubs, Boy/Girl Scouts, and more.  Depending on the weather and time of year, these events can be indoor visits or outdoor visits with the Conservation Station trailer.
